It’s 1988, and onto the scene bursts the Ford Sierra Cosworth – a 204bhp hot saloon selected by the bad guys as the ultimate getaway car, effortlessly outpacing the constabulary’s aging Rover SD1. This was another homologation special designed to challenge the dominant BMW E30 M3 BTCC Challenger.
While an icon to own, it posed a challenge to work on. The completely original single-stage paint presented our team with some difficulties. It required a delicate balance of cutting speed, cutting compound, and pad material to correct the paintwork, removing 35 years of wear and tear without leaving behind buffer trails and polishing marks. Once refined, it was sealed with a ceramic coat to ensure continued protection.
